The HG701-11 chain is directional and features SIL-TEC treatment on the roller link plate and pin link plate for increased durability. It is compatible with 11-speed road, MTB, and E-BIKES thanks to its reinforced design.
The adapted geometry of the chain links offers excellent switching performance in any living situation. Even mud and dirt offers the sophisticated design little attack surface. In conjunction with SIL-TEC, Shimano's new surface coating, ultra-low friction is generated. When compared to simple coatings, SIL-TEC is a very special coating process. The use of embedded fluorine particles improves system performance. The coating also reduces wear, noise and friction, dirt-repellent and wear-resistant, which significantly increases the durability of the components treated with SIL-Tec.
