VAS SHIELD SYSTEM: The Variable Axis System shield mechanism was developed to enhance the shape of the shell, but the easy to learn changing mechanism is what most people are raving about. Quick, easy and intuitive.
IMPROVED SHIELD LATCH: The VAS latch captures and securely holds the shield closed to help prevent unexpected opening. In addition to the de-mist function, the larger latch allows for intuitive and seamless shield operation.
IMPROVED GLANCE OFF ABILITY: The VAS pivot cover is now smaller and lower than the previous design, yielding an average of 24mm more area above the cover. The shell is now smoother along the Snell test line in the temple area, thus increasing the helmet’s ability to glance off objects during an impact. Compared with the shell of the Corsair-V, the smooth area around the temple is increased by an average of 24mm on the new VAS model. Having a rounder, smoother, stronger shell to improve glance off ability.
PB-CLC SHELL: Born from Arai’s exclusive Formula One helmet technology, the Peripherally Belted Complex Laminate Construction shell is developed to be both light and strong. The upper edge of the eye port is reinforced with Arai’s Peripheral Belt, custom woven in-house with proprietary super fibers to increase shell strength without adding thickness or weight.
ONE-PIECE MULTI-DENSITY LINER: A one-piece multi-density liner, tuned with varying densities according to the position and volume of each given area within each shell size, provides protection where it’s needed most, and allows Arai to make a compact helmet that puts protection first, and is as aerodynamic and light as possible.
INTERIOR: SEMI-REMOVABLE LINER: The top padding stays in place but the liner is fixed with Velcro and easily removed for cleaning.
INTERIOR: REPLACEABLE CHEEK PADS/EAR CUPS: Depending on the model, cheek pads, ear cups or the complete interior may be easily removed. All parts (replaceable or not) can be cleaned with lukewarm water and mild soap. Rinse well after cleaning and never dry in direct sunlight or near a heat source. Interior parts in different size thickness are available for a custom fit for every rider.
COMFORT: 5MM WIDER BASE: The exclusive shell flares 5mm around the base, making it easier to get the helmet on and off (for newcomers to Arai the initial ‘snugness’ when putting the helmet on or taking it off can be challenging).
REAR VENTILATION:ONE-PIECE REAR EXHAUST: Extracts more hot air from the helmets interior and improves aerodynamics.
REAR VENTILATION: SIDE EXHAUSTS: Produce low pressure behind the rear vent for better hot air extraction. Integrated in the shell for better aerodynamics, reduce wind noise and prevent buffeting at speed. Inside, a small foam dam helps to absorb and diminish excessive noise, without reducing ventilation performance.
REAR VENTILATION: NECK EXHAUST VENT: To enhance hot-air extraction from the interior. Increases the ventilation effect at the lower part of the helmet.
CHIN CURTAIN: Attached to the bottom of the helmet, the new chin curtain helps to further accentuate the Egg-shape form. The curtain simultaneously blocks air intrusion from turbulent air below and increases negative pressure to enhance the exhaust function of FFS by drawing more air from the mouth area. The improved airflow reduces noise even further.
FACIAL CONTOUR SYSTEM (FCS): To offer an even better snug fit and enhancing the comfort to the lower jaw, the Facial Contour System (FCS) works with a foam spring support in the cheek pad that compresses and rebounds, providing the necessary support without excessive pressure.
TESTED: The Regent-X, along with all Arai models available in North America, meets or exceeds the SNELL M2020 standard, but only after they all first satisfy Arai's stringent in-house criteria.

Switching to the Five Ten shoe has been amazing. The stiffness and grip - and the confidence - on the pedals that these shoes provide will definitely improve your rides. I’m able to generate more power with a bit less effort. I ride about 100 miles a week in mixed trail, beach and other conditions. These shoes have really imp to over the fun and performance. Essential equipment for the serious open pedal rider!
Finally used for the first time today. Installation was very easy. The front slide made it easy to load the kayak. I have a 4 Runner and once I lifted the kayak to the slides just had to push the kayak up into place. Would definitely recommend these.
I use these shoes on my gravel bike. They fit well and have great stiff soles. I really like the synthetic materials--they stay clean out here in the AZ desert, but when riding in the dirt or through the local summer streams, they clean off simply by hosing them down, and then they quickly dry. They are great shoes, and would buy them again. They were promptly delivered and had a great price.
My wife rode padded saddles on our tandems, mostly gel. After a certain amount of time riding, she would have to shift or get off the saddle for a moment of relief. That could be as often as a few minutes near the end of a ride of say 25 miles. I got her the B17S carved saddle to try. She was skeptical, but tried it. She found it so comfortable even as a new saddle, she no longer needs the relief breaks. She has 3 of them on our tandems and her single. I also use the B17 carved and the B17 Special on several bikes, highly recommended.
Traveled 2,400 miles cross country and back carrying two bikes with the first use of this rack. No issues and worked great. it is a little heavy to lift and line up in the hitch receiver, but once there and securely fastened, no worries. Like the locking features of the attachment to the receiving hitch and the bars that slide down onto the bike frames. The vertical bar folding down away from the car makes it easy to load the inside bike and to get into the back of the car when the bikes are not loaded. Highly recommend this rack and substantially less expensive than comparable quality racks.
